Timed Writing: Beginning my Book

Strolling along a quiet street with music blasting from her earphones, Lyla is on her afternoon walk. Her dog, Slinky, waddles along beside her, happy as a golden retriever can be. Ever since she moved across the country alone to start her university life, an afternoon walk has become her daily routine that she never misses. The cooling breeze, the smell of freshly bloomed flowers, the slight tint of yellow on the grass from the sun setting, and the shadows from the trees fading in and out. Lyla breathed in the calming fresh air. A sigh of relief after finishing a whole day of university classes. She walked beside the low fences that divided the sidewalk with the grass, noticing how neatly trimmed they are today. The glare from the sun sitting beautifully on top, she took out her phone and snapped a few pictures for her own memory. Focusing on the feathery grass further away, Lyla noticed something unusual. Footsteps. Why on earth would there be footsteps on the grass?
