He's Coming: Front and Back Cover Update

As I have decided to change the title of the chapbook, I have redesigned the front cover and edited the back cover as well. I decided to change the title from 'They're Coming' to 'He's Coming' as to give a more specific first-view of what the story inside will be about.

As I do not have Photoshop in my own laptop, I opted in using Canva to edit the covers. I started by searching 'Book Cover' in the search bar and then selecting the 'Create a Blank Book Cover' option as I will start from scratch.

I then selected the 'Upload' button on the left-hand side and uploaded the image I selected for the previous front cover I have created.

I then added the title of the book on the front cover. At first, I selected the 'Six Caps' font as I liked how it looks with the picture I used. However, I decided to change it to the font 'Extenda 20 Micro' as I thought the letters looked better if they are closer, as seen with the new font.

I then changed the size to 412 and use the colour white to give it a simple yet stands out look.

I then continued on and added another text box for the author's name, in this case, my name. I decided to use the font 'Josefin Sans Bold' as it seemed to match well with the font of the title. Using the size 23 as it looks just right, not too big and not too small. I also decided to use double spacing for it to create a unique look along with the colour white to match with the title.

I also selected a filter for the image as I thought it will enhance the picture, I decided on using the filter 'Slate' from the 'Mono' category.

As for the back cover, I selected this picture from Pexels. I like this picture as it correlates with the genre of the book and matches well with the front cover.

To begin editing, I uploaded the picture on to Canva.

I then adjusted the picture to fit with the template size and continue to select the exact same filter for the picture to match with the front cover.

I then added on a 'barcode' sticker from the 'Elements' section to make it as thought it is real.

I then decided to add a snippet of the story using questions asked in the storyline using the same font, 'Josefin Sans Bold' and the same size of 23.

This is the final result for the front and back cover.

Reflection:
Though I changed the title so sudden, I am satisfied with the overall result of both the front and back cover for the chapbook. I feel as though both the images I have used truly relates with the genre of the chapbook. Perhaps if I have time, I would have added a few more elements in the front cover however, I am fully satisfied with it like this hence I will not add anything else.
