Urban Landscape Reflection: City Of Leicester
For this project, I was quite inspired with Chris Killip while taking the images for the urban landscape theme. Though most of the pictures are not quite similar, I tried to implement his style of taking the images when I went out.
I did however, have a hard time in naming and titling the images as I am quite bad when it comes to naming things. Nevertheless, I pulled through and named the images with a sense of self-explanatory.
I really liked how 'Streetlight' turned out. I wanted to show the streets of Leicester from one view overlooking a long street. I would say the sun was in the right place as I took this picture because it creates a kind of diversity between each side of the street.
As for this image, I love the end result as the two buildings represent two different era's in time. However, I did decide on the name 'Back to 50's' because I liked the structure of the building on the left and the cars below it gives a 50's atmosphere. About the building on the right, I feel gives a atmosphere of being like a vintage Leicester with the structures. Along with the black and white colour, it gives off a vintage scenery.
I am happy and satisfied with the results of this project, however, I think that I should have took more time in doing the quality control as most of the images would need more of a tone down in the exposure.
