Photography: Urban Landscape

In class today, we set out to a certain area in the city to explore and take photographs for our concept 'Urban Landscape'.

As it was quite sunny, I set the camera to ISO 200 and an aperture of F4, which will be adjusted throughout the shoot. I then also used the 'Monochrome' pre-set for a black and white image and the 'Landscape' pre-set. As seen below are the contact sheets I created in Photoshop.

Seen below are the test shots I am satisfied with the most.

I used the 'Monochrome' pre-set here as I thought the shadows will be enhanced and will give a vintage look. I also liked how the long street is empty and how contrast the building structures are between each side of the street.

Similarly, I used the 'Monochrome' pre-set and it turned out really nice. With the building structure, the black and white colour enhances the vintage look and vibe of the whole image.

Reflection:
I loved how the images turned out even though it was my first experience in trying street photography. I took numerous shots and concluded that I liked the images better if they are taken with a 'Monochrome' pre-set as it enhances the hidden shadows and gives off a more quite and vintage look for the image
