Creative Writing Exercise - Anxiety
Looking outside her window, Sky heaved out a heavy sigh. Her exam results have just been published on to the school board and to her dismay, it was not at all satisfying to look at. She was extremely confident that she had aced every single test throughout the week but the results say otherwise. Sky thought to herself on what went wrong, could it have been a spelling mistake? or her teacher graded her exam wrong? or simply, it was her lack of knowledge, despite studying everyday. Her heart began racing, as she had told her mother to "not be worried, I aced all the exams". One thing that Sky has not been able to do throughout her life, is to make her parents proud of her academic work. Yes she has made them proud from her extracurricular skills, and they have never pressured her to become an academically, top-class child but Sky promised them she would at least balance them out. Though they don't say it to her, she couldn't help but think that, maybe her parents are disappointed in her. She hears the front door open and her mother calls out to her. Her heart began racing and her mind was everywhere.
