Software Testing; Creating A Magazine Article with Pixlr
This is the second software I will be testing to create my Magazine Article called Pixlr.
I logged on to my account that I have previously made and clicked on the 'Create New' button to get started.
I then clicked on to the 'Print' option and selected 'A4' as that is the size I want for the magazine article later on. I changed the name of the file to 'Magazine Article' as it will help me in finding the file if I need it later on. I then continued to click on 'Create' to start.
Firstly, I added a white background colour to make it easier when editing the layout by clicking on 'Layout and Template' on the left-hand bar.
I then clicked on 'Add Element / Image' and 'Add Media' to upload images I will use for the layout.
As seen below, I uploaded two images that I have saved from a previous task. I downloaded the images from Pixabay. I then adjusted their sizes and placed them where I think it will look similar to a magazine article in general.
I then decided to change the background colour to a light gray as I thought the white background was too bright.
I then proceeded to click on 'Add Text' and added the text for the layout.
I continued to add the credited author by writing 'Written By Licca Pragitha' as one does in creating a magazine article. I used the font 'Trebuchet MS' and size of 54. I decided to use a dark gray for the colour to blend it neatly with the background.
I then added the Lorem Ipsum text for the article from the BlindTextGenerator website. I adjusted the size to 52 with the font 'Arial' to create a neat look.
I then also adjusted the image to match with the texts above.
As a small detail, I added writing at the bottom 'Volume I' and 'ACCILITA MAGAZINE | 1'. I use the font 'Trebuchet MS', the size at 54, and the colour dark gray to match with the text above.
This is the final result of a magazine article layout created in Pixlr.
Reflection:
I like how the final result looks as it quite similarly represents a magazine article. Though Pixlr did not have templates, I like that we can be creative in designing our own layout and exploring our own creativity. However, using Pixlr does waste more time as I will have to decide the whole layout. From this, I will conclude that I will be using Canva for my final project.
Good that you posted this with screenshots and explained the technical process.
