Software Testing; Creating A Magazine Article with Canva
In this post, I will be demonstrating on how to create a Magazine Article using Canva. The main idea is that I will be testing different softwares to see how it will look in my Wix website as a flipbook.
I start by logging in to Canva with my own account as I already have one and click the 'Search Templates' section. I then searched 'Magazine Article Templates' to find what I need.
I chose this template because it looks simple and I can customise the colour scheme into something I will like.
As I have not finished my article, I will be using a Lorem Ipsum text from BlindTextGenerator. I then changed the number of words to match with how many I need for the article which is 800 words.
First, I changed the title name into the title of my project by double-clicking the words into 'Cinematography: The History'. I then changed the font to 'Lovelo' and the size to 48.
I then also changed the 'Travel Journal' text to 'Magazine Article' to indicate what it is and changed the name to myself under 'Written By' and 'Edited By'. I then changed the font to 'Mukti' and the size to 9.
To create a better representation that this will be an article about cinematography, I decided to delete the image given from the template and change it to a new image. I then uploaded an image that I already have from previous work of a vintage film camera by selecting the 'Uploads' option and clicking on 'Upload files'.
I then adjusted the size of the image to fit and match the style of the text already there. Thus, this is the final look on how the cover of the article will look like created by Canva.
Reflection:
I like how Canva provides a variety of templates for me to choose from so I do not waste much time on designing the layout. It was really simple in terms of editing and customising the template hence why I found the process to be really easy and fun. As for the software testing, I only tried to create a first page example of the magazine article therefore I will look forward to creating a similar layout and colour scheme for the other pages using Canva.
Good that you posted this, explained the technical process of using the software with screenshots.
